Joshua’s House

News on the domain name

Yesterday I recieved word from the owner of Joshuashouse.org. They had origanally purchased the name for a house building ministry they were working on. Apparently, the ministry never took off, and they seem to have plans to work on it agian. However, they are considering selling the domain to me. Pray that God will impress their hearts. Most importantly, pray that His will be done.

I started out kind of bummed out yesterday, but God really encouraged me. I really felt His presence. I was able to nail down what the first week’s lesson would entail. Also, I made some plans for the first few lessons. I downloaded a free trial of adobe illustrator and created the first activity sheet that will be avalible in PDF for the kids to download. I can’t say too much about it though, because I don’t want to spoil the fun! There is still a little more work to be done on it, but I can’t do more until I have a logo and a corprate identy. Yay! Things are moving and God is really blessing!

When I woke up yesterday, I was filled with doubt and confusion. I didn’t know what to do, and I felt as if all guidance and direction was gone. After pouring out my soul to the Lord, He began working on my heart. As I was studying Luke 1-2:20 for Joshua’s House, He was really speaking to me. There were three promises God fulfilled in that text. He took away and gave Zacharias back his speech, He gave Elizabeth the birth of John, and He gave Mary the birth of Jesus! We have a God who keeps His promises! He has promised to guide us (Ps 23:3), He has promised to provide for us (Mt 6:31-32), and He has promised never to leave us (Joshua 1:5).

A lot done

Today I got alot done for Joshua’s House. I e-mailed zondervan to obtain rights to use the NIV Bible in an audio production. I also e-maild the person who currently owns joshuashouse.org. She is not using the domain name, so I e-mailed her to see if I can buy it from her. I spend several hours researching Bible study methods for kids and pulling materials together for various aspects of the website. Now, I have to decide if I’m going to continue with the rest of the God’s Word portion of the site, or if I should wait and do something else while I wait to hear back from zondervan (it could take 4 weeks just to get a reply, and longer if I have to persue things from there). I can begin studying the Bible and figuring out more of the layout of how it will work. I can even begin studying Luke, since I know that’s where I will start. I just don’t want to pull too much from the NIV and then not have it. I could really step out on faith and begin working on the recording stuff, but I think I should wait. There is plenty of other stuff that has to be done, and I don’t want to waste any of my time.
