Joshua’s House

Joshua’s House

Working on music

Yesterda I went to talk to the head of the music department about at the very least, getting a theme song created for Joshua’s House. While the meeting wasn’t at all what I expected (you couldn’t really call it a meeting), I was directed to Dr. Ashton. He is an amazing composer/everyting musical who used to work here at Southern. He’s retired now, but still teaches a class here and there. Dr. Ball seems to think that this project would be right up his alley. I have e-mailed him and am eager to hear a responce.

I also spent some time in the library yesterday, and I found some good resources for Joshua’s House. They have some of the books I really wanted to get as refrance books, but don’t have the funds for. It’s nice because I can just go to the library and get some research done.

The last thing is that I turned in my practicum proposal. Although I’m not 100% sure, it sounds like I will be able to work on Joshua’s House for my practicum! Woooo HOooo! 50 hours each semester! I’m so excited!

Honestly I haven’t been giving Joshua’s House the time that it deserves lately. I have talked with the non-profit professor here at Southern and she has given me some information regarding contacting the United Way and other organizations down town that may be able to help with funding. She also gave me the information for some books to read. I will hopefully get some appointments set up downtown, and get a move on that pretty quickly.

I have been working more on the script for Joshua’s House. While it is by no means done, I have done some research and am almost done with some of the filler parts for the first episode. I have also spent a lot of time working on finding good bridge music for the production.

I have a meeting set up with the Chair of the music department on Thursday. I’m going to see if the students there can at the very least create the theme music for the audio series. Maybe they can even work on some bridge music for me. Well, that’s pretty much it. I can’t wait until Christmas break, where I’ll really have some time to move forward!

Oh yeah, I’m also working on a proposal to work on Joshua’s House as the practium for my degree at SAU. If it goes through that will be 50 hours each semester that I will HAVE to work on Joshua’s House! Horray!
