Joshua’s House

So, it has been quite some time since I’ve updated this blog. I have been working really hard on Joshua’s House, however. Part of the new requirements are that I update this blog once a week. Part of the motivation for this is to keep the blog live, so that people can continually see what’s going on with the ministry. Another reason is to hold me accountable to getting lots done, and to encourage me when things are moving slowly. Okay, enough of all of that, you want to know what’s been happening.

Well, progress is being made on the pilot episode. I have been gatering more sound effects and things are starting to come together. I have also been doing a lot of research to make sure things are accurate. It has been quite fun!

There has been a recent discover. We need money and/or personnel really soon! Things are growing a bit big for me, and without finances Joshua’s House is going to run up against a wall here pretty soon. I went to a class at the United Way here in town to learn about non-profit start-ups (like Joshua’s House). There was a lot of information presented. I have basically decided that the ideal situation would be to partner with someone who already has non-profit status rather than creating one from scratch. I think this would give me a lot more freedom too. I am currently preparing a proposal based on the information I recieved from the class. I will have to adapt it based on who I’m talking to, but it will be super helpful! I plan on contacting and meeting with a few organizations whose goals and values match up with mine to see if they would be interested in the idea. However, if none of them are interested, government paperwork, here I come.
